    This is the best gravy mix I have ever used. Of course 1st and foremost I use it for making chicken gravy, that tastes better then homemade. I also use it when I make rice, put a tablespoon or 2 (depending on your taste) in the water bring to a boil stir in rice, at the end you have a delicious chicken flavored rice. This is a must have in your kitchen, always keep at least 2 containers on hand.

    I discovered the Watkins gravy bases at the Denver Stock Show many years ago and have never been without them since. I am considered an excellent cook BUT good gravy was my nemesis! I studyied with people whose gravy I liked but I could not duplicate their recipes to save my life until I discovered Watkins gravy bases. Now, I literally can't hurt my gravy! You can make great gravy in the time it takes to boil water. I use the Beef and Chicken bases almost daily.

    This one product is the main reason I began selling Watkins. There is no product in the market that comes close to the richness and flavor of this base. I use it in vegetables, have made gravy with it. It does not have a lot of sodium in it, so much to the point that you must add it to your dish if you really want it. Just simply out of this world.

    I have been using the soup and gravy base for many years. Our favorite is chicken and beef. I ran out once and about gagged when I had to use chicken bouillon which tastes like salt and chicken fat. The Watkins flavor is wonderful so I stock up when it is on sale or when free shipping is offered. I will never use anything else again! P.S. I would be even happier if Watkins offered a ham flavor as well. I'm stuck using salty bouillon for my ham soups.

    Just received this mix. Have not tried yet as a soup or gravy, but I tasted it, and five stars for this product. It can't be anything but good. More chicken flavor and less salty taste. Love the flavor. Threw my store bought stuff in the trash.

  • HOME MADE SOUP!

    I put 1 quart of water into a pot on the stove, and bring it to a boil. I put 3 Tablespoons of Beef Soup Base into the boiling water and stir a few seconds. I have my vegetables already prepared to put into the liquid: Frozen veggies, or drained veggies from a can, and a can or two of diced, or stewed tomatoes not drained. I then stir it together and put in some cut up fresh Cabbage. You have soup in 15 minutes. It tastes like it has been cooking all day long. For variation you can add more Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Pepper, or put in a can of the tomatoes with the jalepeno peppers if you like more heat in your soup. If you want meat in it you can use left over pot roast cut up, and put into it. Fast, Easy and Delicious!
